Understanding Rauwolscine

June 1, 2016 — by Matt Theis0

If you’ve taken a lot of stimulant-based fat-burners or pre-workout supplements, you may have encountered Rauwolscine before, possibly under the name Alpha-Yohimbine (same thing, different name).  Still, although many products contain Rauwolscine, not many people know much about it.

So What Is Rauwolscine?  What Does It Do?!

Rauwolscine is a chemical relative of Yohimbine (hence the alternative name Alpha-Yohimbine), a popular fat-burning supplement that is sold as a single ingredient supplement by many companies and often used in multi-ingredient pre-workouts and fat-burners.

Both Rauwolscine and Yohimbine have the same fundamental mechanism of action.  That is, they are alpha-receptor antagonists.

Alpha-receptors are responsible for regulating lipolysis, the breakdown of fat.  By antagonizing, or blocking the action of, alpha-receptors, both Yohimbine and Rauwolscine allow your body to utilize more fat for energy than would otherwise normally be possible.

Is Rauwolscine Better Than Yohimbine?

You can think of Rauwolscine as Yohimbines more effective cousin.  On a mg for mg basis, it is considerably more potent, requiring only 1-3mg for most people.  This is in comparison to 10-20mg of Yohimbine.

Anecdotally speaking, Rauwolscine appears to be less causative of side effects (jitters, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, etc.) than it’s cousin, Yohimbine.  That said, if you take too much you’ll surely regret it.

Rauwolscine Dosing

Because Rauwolscine is considerably more potent than Yohimbine, it is not recommended to consume more than 1-3mg at a time.  When combined with other stimulants, the effects of Rauwolscine can be felt with as little as .5mg.

Sources Of Rauwoslcine

Rauwolscine is usually standardized from extracts of herbs like Raufolvia Vimitoria and Yohimbe Extract.  The problem with these extracts is that they often contain unestablished amounts of Rauwolscine.  That is, the manufacturers claim that this particular extract is standardized to say, 90%, but in reality the concentration could vary significantly.  There could even be none at all.

Go For Pure Rauwolscine HCL

Singular Sport Rauwolscine HCL is the only single-ingredient Rauwolscine supplement that is not from any sort of plant extract.  It’s pure Rauwolscine HCL.  There are no hidden bioactives that cause side effects or elevate the risks by adding additional unlisted stimulants into the mix.  The only active ingredient is Rauwolscine HCL.

Third Party Testing: The Only Real Way To Gaurantee Purity and Potency

What sets Singular Sport Rauwolscine aside from any other supplement claiming to contain Rauwolscine is that it’s Third Party Tested and the results are posted publically both on SingularSport.com and an Amazon.  This adds an element of certainty that is usually completely absent.

Many companies just say you should trust them.  Singular Sport proves that you can with Third Party Testing.
